It'll Come Around Sitting at the counter, bowing our heads Praying over eggs The Sunday blues were hitting hard and rattled us like chains Shaking two packs of Sweet and Low Like she was beating back the Devil If I spoke before she drained her cup She'd be Cain and I'd be Able When we were green and the stakes were low We never checked the weather We'd lay in bed constructing dreams The wilder the better Time slipped out when we hit snooze Was never seen again Now we're staring at an empty fridge Our wits have met their end But it'll come around It'll come around It'll come around It'll come around Monday came like a Karate chop Across the back of my neck I snuck into work and hour late and hid behind my desk Back at home she was drinking a beer Just to take off the edge Cutting lotto tickets into paper dolls And tearing off their heads But it'll come around It'll come around It'll come around It'll come around It's a long, long game, So don't ya get uptight Don't lay awake chasing numbers in the night It's a long, long game, It ain't time to panic yet I'm telling you there's better days ahead It'll come around The summer evening stretched like taffy As we began to walk We made wrong turns on purpose Just to get a little lost Found a park the world forgot Rides rusted in their tracks Tossed a coin into a fountain And made a wish to have it back But it'll come around It'll come around It'll come around It'll come around

Chasing Rainbows I remember chasing rainbows In Daddy's Chevrolet We'd drive for miles on them back roads and still be miles away Days and weeks keep slippin' by me My attitudes been grey I'm exhausted by the sunshine and desperate for a change Maybe we're too busy Maybe we're too old Let's go chasing rainbows Let's go chasing rainbows Stuck in a hurricane of memories Spinning stories from the past Rain fell like wedding day confetti Now puddles are all that we have Maybe I'm just dreamin' Maybe I'm to bold Let's go chasing rainbows Let's go chasing rainbows There's no adventure worth a mention without a risk Let's be braver, make a wager and go all in The horizon's something I've been watching my whole life Let's be a little reckless and make it right No matter where the wind blows Our direction stays the same So take my hand and never let go It's OK to be afraid Maybe we've got decades But no-one, no-one really knows Let's go chasing rainbows Let's go chasing rainbows Let's go chasing rainbows Let's go chasing rainbows

Better at Leaving Up in the air, take it or leave it I keep telling my friends she's just in for the weekend Come Monday morning she'll be half way to Cleveland She's good at love but she's better at leaving She comes in on the Greyhound, like original sin Water coloured tattoos, splashed on her skin I don't ask when she's going, I don't ask her to stay Just keep it in the moment, that's the deal we made Up in the air, take it or leave it I keep telling my friends she's just in for the weekend Come Monday morning she'll be half way to Cleveland She's good at love but she's better at leaving She's good at love but she's better at leaving The world stops spinning when she touches my hand No promises are given, no starry eyed plans I was lost in a daydream when she stepped out the door We don't bother saying goodbye anymore We're two sides of the same lucky penny Someday she'll stop and pick it up It's like holding a match you let burn to your fingers Sometimes enough just ain't enough Up in the air, take it or leave it I keep telling my friends she's just in for the weekend Come Monday morning she'll be half way to Cleveland She's good at love but she's better at leaving She's good at love but she's better at leaving She's good at love but she's better at leaving

Everyday 02:42
Everyday Everyday, it's a-gettin' closer Goin' faster than a roller coaster Love like yours will surely come my way A-hey, a-hey hey Everyday, it's a-gettin' faster Everyone said, "Go ahead and ask her" Love like yours will surely come my way A-hey, a-hey hey Everyday seems a little longer Every way, love's a little stronger Come what may, do you ever long for True love from me? Everyday, it's a-gettin' closer Goin' faster than a roller coaster Love like yours will surely come my way A-hey, a-hey hey Everyday seems a little longer Every way, love's a little stronger Come what may, do you ever long for True love from me? Everyday, it's a-gettin' closer Goin' faster than a roller coaster Love like yours will surely come my way A-hey, a-hey hey Love like yours will surely come my way

Roadside Attraction One more day, staring at the ceiling Same routine and the same paint peeling Rorschach water stains comin' alive I had to get out for a drive There she was hitching on nine With dust on her boots and a cardboard sign Big bold letters straight and clear Said anywhere but here She had a renegade outlaw sense of fashion If a pick her up anything could happen I'm a sucker for a road side attraction We traced a line on a tourist map Took Polaroids in foolish hats Treated that road like the wild west Pushed the needle to the edge I don't think we ever stopped laughin' She rev'd up my accelerated passion I'm a sucker for a road side attraction Pulled to side and let the sun disappeared She stole a kiss as a souvenir Backseat blanket and an old cassette Got as close as we could get We woke up to patrol lights flashin' Rubbernecking drivers enjoying the action I'm a sucker for a road side attraction

Make a Change Lost again underneath the globe Upside down and on a backward road I knew the minute I left the ground The only place to go was down Why'd I leave you in the cold Now my heads on straight and honey you should know Gonna make a change I'm gonna make a change Gonna make a change I'm gonna make a change Made my way through the twisted trees The birds were singin' but not for me This ocean road don't seem so great Of the twelve apostles I only counted eight I've made my bed that's where I'll lay My watch is full of rust The hours feel like days Gonna make a change I'm gonna make a change Gonna make a change I'm gonna make a change Spent last night on the tile floor Was it something in the water or the shots I poured These rainy mountains are making me blue I won't feel the sun until I'm back with you Please forgive me my mistake I pray you're standing there When I get off the plane Gonna make a change I'm gonna make a change Gonna make a change I'm gonna make a change I've been wrong but I'm making it right I've been blind but I found the light I gave up now I'm ready to fight I'm gonna make a change

My Stupid Heart He filled the room like a summer breeze Something in his laugh was wild and free I've heard the stories, I've heard the lies I was already lost when he caught my eye I've had many lesson's learned I'm not afraid to crash and burn When it comes to love, I can't trust my head It's such a mess God bless my stupid heart I'm not a girl to play it safe I'm not opposed to the right mistake We stepped outside to share a cigarette Counted stars and then we left I've had many lesson's learned I'm not afraid to crash and burn When it comes to love, I can't trust my head It's such a mess God bless my stupid heart My stupid heart, my stupid heart My stupid heart, my stupid heart My stupid heart can't take a hint It don't care 'bout the mess I'm in I've had many lesson's learned I'm not afraid to crash and burn When it comes to love, I can't trust my head It's such a mess God bless my stupid heart

Kicking and Screaming Splashing water on my face, up before six Listen to the coffee bubble and drip Four crows on the line preaching end of days Swerving down the road in a voodoo haze I'm a computer zombie, walking dead Hands of a clock wrapped around my neck But on Friday night when the band is swinging I'll be out on the dance floor Kicking and screaming All the weekend cowboys in their brand new jeans Standing in a circle like rosary beads I pass right by 'em in the neon light I'm not here to drink, I'm not here to fight Squeeze my way through the twisting crowd All hands in the air and tearing it down Guitars on ten and the kick drum beating I'm standing in the front row Kicking and screaming I'm a Kung-Fu master on an old TV A twister of hands and a storm of feet Step to the side and watch for debris I'm gonna exercise my demons I'll be kicking and screaming It's no surprise I've seen better days The world moved on while I stood in place Hitching my way back into town My '65 Falcon's always breaking down I've never been bothered by a little rust You get watcha' can before it's dust When the sky's on fire and the angels are singing I'll be dancing with the Devil Kicking and screaming

Waltzing Out of Time When the band played, we crowded the floor The singer came in late and missed a few chords We never noticed we were lost in ourselves Love had struck us blind We were waltzing out of time Hairspray halos and cocktail perfume Guys playing macho, rolled sleeves and bad tattoos We cut circles in the geometric wood And left them all behind We were waltzing out of time Last call lights on the crowd disappeared The band played its last song and packed up their gear We held on tighter, never spoiled it with words It's still playing in my mind We were waltzing out of time It's still playing in my mind We were waltzing out of time

about

When Tomato/Tomato began writing for It'll Come Around, the duo wasn't quite sure what direction they would be heading but they were feeling strong pulls back to their roots. John grew up listening to mix tapes his father made for him that included generous helpings of The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and Buddy Holly, along with loads of other early Rock n' Roll bands. Lisa, who grew up in Chicago, was heavily influenced by Motown and the Blues from a young age.

The direction for the album was solidified when a long-lost family heirloom returned to their lives. In 1974 John's uncle David died tragically at the age of 19 in a gas station explosion. John never had the opportunity to meet his uncle but knew they shared a love for the guitar and often wondered what happened to his uncle's instrument. After John and Lisa moved into their new home, the 40-year-old mystery was soon solved. As it turns out, their neighbour, Mike had the guitar and generously agreed to a trade. Inspired by this connection to the past, John finished writing the album on his uncle’s ‘64 Fender Stratocaster. This turned out to be the missing piece of the puzzle and everything else for It'll Come Around just fell into place.

To begin the recording process the band returned to Nashville to work with producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist, Jon Estes. They spent 6 days recording the majority of the instrumental parts with some of Nashville's finest and then returned home to finish the vocals. The final result is a high energy roots rock album with plenty of retro sounds and vintage vibes.
